Traits in Remnant: From the Ashes are special passive abilities that provide unique bonuses and buffs to a player. Traits are obtained as you progress through the game and unlock secrets. Each trait with its associated ability can be strengthened by spending Trait Points to increase its level to a maximum of 20 in the Traits Menu.

This page has a list of all the Traits in Remnant: From the Ashes which include their description and values. You can find detailed information about acquisition and trait properties on each individual page linked below.

How Traits Work

  • All traits unlocked by the player are permanent and always active.
  • Invested Trait Points can be retrieved using an Orb of Undoing. (Obtained by defeating The Dreamer, or from Reggie)
  • All traits have a max level of 20.

Levelling Up Traits

  • Kill enemies and bosses which award experience. Earning 1500 experience will award the player with 1 Trait Point.
  • Completing quests as you encounter them will award a decent chunk of experience towards Trait points.
  • Tomes of Knowledge award 1 Trait Point each.

Increases Max Health.

Increases Max Stamina.

Reduces Stamina cost when sprinting and evading.

Increases resistance to elemental damage, buildup, and STATUS effects.

Increases Ranged damage reduction.

Increases the range of the bonus you get when you're close to your teammates.

Reduces enemy Awareness.

      Gotta say I am very very happy that we get to actually work for our cosmetics rather than buying all of them. Sure you can argue that it’s $10 for the dlc but compare it to games like destiny or call of duty where it can be $15 just for one piece of gear. Love it

        I am a tad confused, are you about to unlock all the traits and level them to 20? However you can only a certain amount of traits active at a time?

          There a new summoner trait that increased summon minion dmg. I got it randomly just by summoning dont how many you need to summon thou.

            I can't understand why there is no trait that increases your max ammo supply! Constantly running out of ammo seems like a waste of potential to me.

              I have seen quite a lot of people asking why their available trait point + trait rank is not equal to 640 (maxed exp). I am here to clarify it: Many traits come with 1 value when you obtained it, the 1 value automatically added into your trait rank. So if your available trait point + trait rank is not equal to 640, it's not bugged. It means you have missing traits that give you 1 trait rank each when you got them.

                Trait rank doesn't seem to have a cap, not sure if that was shared already. Traits individually have a cap of 20

                  Am I correct in assuming that every trait has a corresponding ring or amulet? If that is the case then shouldn't there be a trait that increases elemental damage?

                    The maximum level of a single trait seems to be 20. Or maybe Elder Knowledge just caps at 20, I'm not sure.
