Use the Iskal Vial on the Graveyard Elf's cauldron in Corsus. (Adventure Mode only)

Potency is a Trait in Remnant: From the AshesTraits are special passive abilities tied to character progression. They provide a large variety of effects including increasing core stats, improving offensive and defensive capabilities or providing quality of life upgrades. Traits are the key to building a character in a player's preferred playstyle, allowing them to branch off from their chosen Archetype. Traits are obtained by performing certain feats, defeating certain enemies or completing objectives and quests. Each Trait can be ranked up to Level 20, further improving their effects.

The Iskal's purpose is to consume, but even the vyxworm knows the value of savoring its meal.

Remnant Potency Trait Effect Information

The Potency Trait increases the duration of Consumables by +1% per Trait Point invested, up to a maximum of +20% Consumable Duration at Level 20.

Potency is a mildly useful Trait that increases the value of Consumables by making them last longer, allowing you to save some Scrap by purchasing less of them. However, the difference is almost negligible and Trait Points can better be spent elsewhere, such as the Glutton Trait which increases consumable use speed.

How to Obtain Potency in Remnant: From the Ashes

The Potency Trait can be unlocked as follows:

  • Potency's acquisition has some very specific requirements which may require several re-rolls of Corsus to achieve:
    1. You need to re-roll a Corsus Adventure Mode session until you have one that has both the Iskal Queen Boss encounter at the Iskal Sanctum and the Graveyard Elf.
    2. Once you have both in the same world, find an Iskal Infector enemy and allow yourself to get infected with the Parasite status effect by letting it grab you and not resisting the quick-time event. Infectors can be found in the Strange Pass, The Drowned Trench, Circlet Hatchery and The Capillary dungeons found within Corsus.
    3. Once infected, make your way to the Queen at the Iskal Sanctum. Be careful as the Parasite effect halves your maximum Health and dying will remove the Parasite effect, requiring you to go through the process of finding an Infector and getting infected once again.. You will also need to avoid touching any Checkpoints which will also remove the Parasite effect. Speak to the Queen and agree to help her deal with the Graveyard Elf. She will give you the Iskal Vial.
    4. Make your way to the Graveyard Elf and sneak towards her cauldron by crouching and approaching slowly to avoid waking her up. Interact with the cauldron and use the Iskal Vial to unlock the Potency Trait.
    5. After doing this, you can head towards a different area such as one of the dungeons, and then return to the Elf. Her hut will now be open and inside, you will find she has turned into an Iskal who will attack you. You can pick up the Ring of the Unclean on a table inside the hut..
  • Requires the Swamps of Corsus DLC to unlock.

Remnant: From the Ashes Potency Notes & Tips

  • Additional Notes for the Potency Trait go here.
  • All Traits can be ranked up by spending Trait Points on them. Trait Points are acquired primarily by obtaining Experience Points and leveling up. Every 1,500 Experience Points obtained grants 1 Trait Point.
  • Trait Points can also be acquired by finding and picking up Tomes of Knowledge which randomly spawn in the major locations of each world.
  • Traits can be reset by using an Orb of Undoing, acquired at the end of main Campaign. After completing the Campaign, these orbs can then be purchased from Reggie in Ward 13 for 2,500 Scrap apiece.

Finally got this yesterday, some additional info:
      - If you mess up the crouching part or wake her up by shooting, you can Alt+F4 the game and start again from your last checkpoint while still having the poison
      - Apparently, only the lobbyleader can interact with the cauldron. My mate (lobbyleader) did the exact same thing i did before and then it finally worked while it didnt for me
      - You dont need to have the Parasite Status in order to poison the cauldron, only in order to obtain it

May RNGesus be with you, traveler.

I was really hoping this would allow me to extend Bloodwort by at least 10 seconds. But only 6? At max?! It's almost not worth ending the only fem elf in the game.

This is so messed up. This game designs you to do harsh, horrible, and unethical things.

Any chance a future Remnant game will allow me to role-play as myself and not have to be an ******* to get traits?

Got the combo needed on the fifth reroll. Had an infector just standing right outside the iskal temple and one outside the graveyard. Make sure not to shoot anything near the graveyard it will wake her from even far out and you will have to wait until she falls back asleep. You get potency immediately after putting the vial in her soup

this is crazy hard to get, it need 3 rng stuff to appear
              the queen, Iskal Queen
              the elf, Graveyard Elf
the enemy that can infect you, Iskal Infector

              too much rng, damn it.

I rolled like 60 times and got the queen with the sleeping merchant and no enemy to infect me ... zero nothing zip . I looked all over the map for hours back and fourth even resetting dungeons on the same map nothing ! ... is this possible ? I mean make it so at least you can get the poison from the queen and infect the merchant at another point .

                • Anonymous

They should change this, it should be possible to get the venom from the queen to later poison the old woman at the graveyard in another adventure.

Oh MA GOD! This is the most frustrating***** to get ever. I have lost count on how many times i restarted the adventure on Corsus to have it be the way it needs to be... Required 3 random things to spawn on one map to get this. Queen with super low spawn, trader and that dumbass mob that gives you the parasite which isnt always there either. God damn this is some evil***** right here.

                    • Anonymous

So this trait is absolutely *****ing impossible to get, you need the queen, who has ridiculously low spawn rate in adventures, the trader and the right enemy to spawn in one adventure, I'm in about 70 attempts and it's always the case where either the queen or the trader doesn't spawn, I can't even begin to tell you how much hate I've developed for the stupid bench with no reason to exist that can generate instead of the trader, since on the few cases where I did get the queen I got the bench instead of the trader. I've regenerated the adventure so many times at this point I've pretty much seen every other permutation of it at least 3 or 4 times, except the one I need. How is that even possible...
