Flash Caster is a Trait in Remnant: From the Ashes. Traits are special passive abilities tied to character progression. They provide a large variety of effects including increasing core stats, improving offensive and defensive capabilities or providing quality of life upgrades. Traits are the key to building a character in a player's preferred playstyle, allowing them to branch off from their chosen Archetype. Traits are obtained by performing certain feats, defeating certain enemies or completing objectives and quests. Each Trait can be ranked up to Level 20, further improving their effects.
We evolve or we die. Same's true of our weaponry.
Remnant Flash Caster Trait Effect Information
The Flash Caster Trait increases the speed at which Weapon Mod Abilities are cast by +1.25% per Trait Point invested, up to a maximum of +25% Weapon Mod Casting Speed at Level 20.
Flash Caster definitely has its uses, particularly for mod abilities that have long cast animations such as the Hunter's Mark or the Mender's Aura, which can leave you vulnerable when cast during a hectic fight. However, many mods already cast very quickly or can be cast while on the move, and others still, work much like alternate firing modes for your weapons and are also very quick to switch between. While shaving off a few seconds or milliseconds off of casting animations is definitely a plus, Flash Caster should be lower on the priority list of mod-related Traits.
How to Obtain Flash Caster in Remnant: From the Ashes
The Flash Caster Trait can be unlocked as follows:
- Acquire 25 standard Weapon Mods.
- Standard Weapon Mods refer to those that can be slotted in and out of standard Weapons.
- Boss Weapons with mods that cannot be removed do not count towards this requirement.

- All Traits can be ranked up by spending Trait Points on them. Trait Points are acquired primarily by obtaining Experience Points and leveling up. Every 1,500 Experience Points obtained grants 1 Trait Point.
- Trait Points can also be acquired by finding and picking up Tomes of Knowledge which randomly spawn in the major locations of each world.
- Traits can be reset by using an Orb of Undoing, acquired at the end of main Campaign. After completing the Campaign, these orbs can then be purchased from Reggie in Ward 13 for 2,500 Scrap apiece.

Anonymousmany of us on ps4 are unable to get flash caster trait. I have 27 mods and unable to get the trait. please help, Is there a bug or something I didn't do or need to do to obtain flash caster trait, frustrated

Not sure what prompted it, but I got the trait after acquiring 25 mods and I was killed in a boss fight with Gorefist on earth shortly after. Didn't get it til i respawned. Probably a coincidence?
What I can confirm is this:
I tried with a new character while having an old one and didn't received it.
I received the trait normally after I deleted my save folder, I am not talking about deleting your character IN the game. but a completely clean save. Not worth it.

I have unlocked every mod in the game, including the newest DLC. And every boss weapon too (even though those aren't supposed to count toward the trait). I still haven't gotten the trait.
I even tried systematically equipping all of the mods and made sure to use them around enemies. Still nothing.

currently bugged hope for a quick fix or use a cheat that gives you the same mod over and over again, if you doesnt want to wait. tested on a fresh character as well got there 25mods no trait, think here is a very small chance to get it but, no need to try it your self :)

If anyone can report to the developers the issue might be for the people with old/previous saves. Since they added new rewards in the Survival Mode it might causing an issue. I completed the Survival mode in 1 go and I didn't receive Black Cat Band AND Bright Steel Ring too. This issue with the Flash Caster might be the same....

It's currently impossible to obtain unless you start a fresh character. Are devs aware of this?
This one should be considered bugged, I had an old save with all the items from main game and the Corsus DLC and when I found all the mods in Subject 2923 I still didn't receive the trait, I make some test and it turns out that you must start from zero to receive it.

I dont seem to get the trait. i already have more then 25 weapon mods... anybody know why?
Can someone please explain what "mod casting speed" is? I've had this game since launch and this is the first time I've even heard that term. Also, I got the trait but not sure how. I logged onto the game and as soon as the game loaded it said I had unlocked the trait. I didn't even do anything. The game said the unlock requirement for the trait was to have unlocked a total of 25 mods. I'm just confused as to why the trait unlocked for me as soon as the game loaded my save instead of giving it to me the last time I played. I didn't move or anything, it just unlocked for me as soon as the save loaded. Guessing it was a glitch? I don't know. On PS4 btw, if that makes a different.
