Swamp Hound is an enemy in Remnant: From the Ashes. Enemies are hostile creatures that inhabit the different realms that you'll encounter, each enemy that is seen is unique by its appearance and set of attacks. Killing a basic enemy drops common items while elite enemies drop rare items upon death.

Swamp Hound Notes & Tips

  • They can burrow underground and emerge performing a jump attack at the player that deals high damage.
The best way to avoid this attack is by dodging when a part of their head becomes visible before they perform their attack.

    • A fully-upgraded Defiler or Shotgun is probably the best choice for keeping them at bay. Automatics like the Typewriter work well, but they have a much lower chance to pain-stun these things.

Gotta love having your flamethrower attack, or certain ranged attacks just "bounce" off its body and not hit him. Like legit my flamethrower point blank(Spitfire weapon mod) hit him, and had the flame effect deform and redirect right at an angle not possible normally. Also don't bother trying to use the ricochet rifle against these guys as i've had it bounce its full amount hitting one of these guys around 6 times and do a total of 0 damage.

Again with no pages for enemy ‘sub-types’ but there’s a mini-boss/ elite version of this enemy that I believe spawns exclusively underground. Very large and ‘fat’’, spawns along with a small pack of the smaller ones. The large version has an AoE corrosion aura around themselves and a high hp pool. I have not discovered it’s weak spot however due to it’s prodigious size it gets stuck on stuff easily

          • I have +19 Armor and the Bark Skin trait for an extra 20% armor and these things STILL do around 50 damage a hit. Their burrow far as i can tell cannot be dodged as they'll immediately change direction springing out at you and they love to swarm you and attack from behind to boot.
