Radioactive Volley is a Weapon Mod in Remnant: From the Ashes. Weapon Mods are components that grant active abilities which can be used in and out of combat. These Mods provide a variety of effects including dealing damage, healing, buffing players and more. Most Mods can be freely slotted in and out of standard Weapons, while the unique Boss Weapons have their own Mods that cannot be removed. Weapon Mod abilities require Mod Power to use, which is generated by attacking enemies.

Remnant Radioactive Volley Mod Information

Radioactive Volley is a Damage-focused Intrinsic Mod attached to the Defiler boss weapon. It serves as an alternate firing mode for the Defiler, unleashing a volley of 6 projectiles that deal 35 Radiation Damage each. The mod holds up to 3 Charges, with each volley consuming one charge. Users can freely switch between firing modes, as long as the mod holds a charge.

When the mod is activated, the Defiler's targeting reticle changes and the Radioactive Volley can be aimed and shot manually with the fire button. The 6 projectiles are fired all at once, much like a shotgun albeit with a more tightly packed spread. The projectiles can ricochet off of the environment, dissipating after several bounces or hitting opponents.

Radioactive Volley works very similarly to the Breath of the Desert mod. Both have their pros and cons. Radioactive Volley has 1 less projectile, but each projectile deals slightly more damage. Both mods deal the same amount of damage as long as all projectiles hit. Breath of the Desert is easier to use at range as it has a homing function that allows the caster to lock onto enemies, reducing the need for much aiming. However, this homing function can cause the projectiles to split their damage between multiple enemies, whereas Radioactive Volley can be aimed manually at specific targets. Radioactive Volley is also easier to hit weak spots with, as long as the enemy is within its ideal range.

Radioactive Volley Mod Properties

  • Radioactive Volley's damage is affected by the Defiler's weapon level, with each level granting +10 damage to each projectile. At Weapon Level 10Radioactive Volley deals 105 damage per projectile.
  • Radioactive Volley's damage is further affected by Mod Damage bonuses, such as those granted by the Evocation trait.
  • Radiation Damage is considered Elemental Damage and is therefore affected by the Wisdom Trait and other similar effects.  It can also be improved with the Radioactive Ember amulet, which specifically boosts Radiation Damage. Note that Elemental Damage bonuses are not reflected in the weapon mod's description in the menu, but is included in the damage calculation.
  • Projectile spread can be reduced with the Handling Trait, as well as the Iskal Hunter Band ring.
