Gives wearer the fastest evade roll regardless of their Armor Encumbrance. |
Bright Steel Ring is a Ring and an accessory in Remnant: From the Ashes. Rings provide additional protection or other bonuses to your character, add buffs to the player's Stats, and resistance to Status Ailments.
Saw a ring like this once, made outta gold with a dark wood-grain crest. Fella said some ancient land across the ocean has been making 'em for centuries.
Where to find Bright Steel Ring
- Survival Mode: Defeat every world boss twice.
- Can also be purchased from Whispers.
- Subject 2923 DLC is required to use this item.
- This item is Account Bound, this means that it can be used across on all your characters (this includes new characters and already created ones in both normal and hardcore difficulty).
Bright Steel Ring Notes
- Players can equip up to two Rings.
- While the Bright Steel Ring grants users the fastest evade roll, it has no effect on stamina use associated with encumbrance. Thus, fast rolls with this ring will still deplete stamina quickly should the player have heavy Encumbrance.

I have acquired Bright Steel Ring, Black Cat Band and White Rose. The "Ring Location" comments are incorrect.
I have defeated 1 or 2 bosses (max/total) in Survival Mode. I certainly have not defeated them all in Survival Mode, not even close.
95% of my game play is in Adventure and Campaign Mode.
Most of my Survival gameplay is in Teams. We rarely make it past the first boss.
Black Cat Band (Survival Mode - Defeat every normal boss twice) - I have done this in both Campaign (Normal, Hard, Nightmare) and Adventure mode (mostly Nightmare).
Bright Steel Ring (Survival Mode - Defeat every world boss twice) - I have done this in both Campaign (Normal, Hard, Nightmare) and Adventure mode (mostly Nightmare).
White Rose (Survival Mode - Defeat all bosses 2 times) - I have done this in both Campaign (Normal, Hard, Nightmare) and Adventure mode (mostly Nightmare).

If you have the latest update, the Bright Steel Ring, Black Cat Band and White Rose can now be purchased from Whispers in Wad 13

This wiki article is wrong. Anyone know how to actually get this ring?

The description of this ring saying he saw one like it that was gold with a dark wood-grain finish is clearly a reference to the Dark Wood Grain Ring from Dark Souls that gives you the ninja flip dodge.

Does this have to be done in one run? I have definitely killed them all two times over.

I kind of hate that nobody knows how to get this thing, because using it in Survival mode in full Leto was awesome. I would really hope you don't need to do co-op to get it, because my internet can be spotty.

Still no confirmed way to get this ring? Help pls to get him
My wife got this ring after killing our first boss together (I was hosting and the boss was the jackal. Hope that's relevant). However, by now we already killed tons of other bosses (jackal included) while she was hosting and I never got it for myself.
Either the wiki is incorrect or the game is bugged.
We've also certainly killed more than 25 other bosses in my server and none of us got the Black Cat Band nor the White Rose.

It seems that the real way to get this ring is still unknown. We try to beat some bosses in coop (hosting and hosted), killed countless bosses, created new character, killed shroud... nothing...
All those who get this ring misinterpreted his drop apparently. Anyway, some common undentified relation between the drops exists and I'm dying to hear it !

Just got this after successfully defeating the second boss(it's a complete new profile, not just new character) in coop, however when defeating the first one i was dead(completely dead, can only be revived by touching stone) during the boss fight. So the requirement of this ring may be help others defeat one boss(must still be alive upon defeat)
Apologies I am re-posting this so I will not cause confusion.
This is what I did until now,
1) Old character reach 56 kills 2 times, nothing
2) New character reach 56 kills 2 times, nothing
3) Erase my save folder(I back it up) to start from the beginning because even if you delete ALL your characters in the game, you will still receive the previous rewards from Hardcore and Survival before the Subject 2923. Reach 56 kills and nothing.
I received the Adventures googles(after 5 kills reward), Talisman of Perseverance (after 50 kills) and the
the only new item I received is the Ring of Flawless Beauty were you purchase 100 items in Survival Mode.
Also with my old character I found EVERYTHING else the new dlc has to offer BUT solo\single-player items.

"Defeat every World Boss twice"
This just is not true. I just got this for killing Shroud as my first Survival Boss on Normal Difficulty.

Not sure how but I got this ring by killing my first boss in Survival while in coop on Normal. We defeated The Thrall on Corsus and I was the only one to get this.
You are asking to start from the scratch right ? Well the thing is there is a BIG fear, even if I delete my characters or if I create a new one it MIGHT not matter, you see when I create a new character I will receive items from the Hardcore and Survival mode from my previous attempts before the Subject 2923.
I noticed in the save game folder that there is a 2 files called profile.bak and profile.sav.
The profile files hold your progress in everything(rewards, characters, achievements, items etc). The rest of the files are just recording your time play, your progress in Survival Mode and Campaign (such as your last save point) . Probably I HAVE to delete the profile files to and loose EVERYTHING, maybe even the achievements.
If there is a workaround it would be much preferred

I can confirm that we got this on old aacounts in survival coop after 2 bosses. The host did not get it but everyone else did. Then I tried joining and got it after 1 boss.
So You get this as a guest in survival after 1 or 2 bosses

From the official Remnant discord:
Bug: New survival mode items not being granted to older characters (workaround; create a new character for survival mode).

Me and my mate got this ring by just killing bosses with only using the starting pistol you get i don't remeber how many bosses we killed tho hope this helps

Soooo just to add my two cents here: I got this ring after killing Canker in Corsus on Survival Mode with one friend. This was the FIRST boss I've ever killed on Survival Mode solo or co-op. However, my friend DID NOT get the ring, despite him hosting the game. So... I'm not really sure how this is unlocked exactly...
I tried 2 times to play the survival mode and reach twice 56 kills non-stop (28 bosses are in general world and mini), I didn't received neither Bright Steel Ring nor Black Cat Band and neither White Rose.
According to some people is that these 3 items you can find them ONLY in Survival mode WITH another player joining with you or in general in coop-play. If that is true then I must say I will be really disappointed. Before the Subject 2923 DLC there was some rings and traits that they were truly meant for coop-play such as Fortification, Hero's Ring, Band Of Accord, Teamwork,Will To Live, Cold As Ice, Revivalist and Suspicion.
Now with the new DLC and explanation of the abilities of the White Rose, Bright Steel Ring and Black Cat Band is obvious that they can be used in single-player campaign and YET I cannot received them unless I play coop............Seriously ?????
I suppose is still early to comment but I strongly hope that I am wrong...

Whenever is a non-stop killing or continuously, I don't know..........

This is not the by killing all the world boss twice because i played with friend that just got the dlc and with 4 boss we got the ring so wrong informations don't bother doing this !
In survival mode there are in total 28 bosses(world and mini), so I went trough 57 kills(in the first 28 kills you never encounter the same boss twice) and I DIDN'T receive this reward neither the Black Cat Band. Also there is a good chance that the Trait Flash Caster is bugged too. What do they have in common in that I was playing the game with an old save of mine. Only when I started a fresh game I could receive the Trait, maybe is the same for these 2 rings. I would like someone to confirm.
The real question is : this can be done in multiple runs or you have to do it in one go ?
There seems to be a bug where equipping and then unequipping the ring doesn't set your dodge back to the default per your encumbrance. It resets on death, but is recreateable by just equip/unequipping it again. I couldn't tell you were I got the ring though, made a new character it was already unlocked.
