Monkey Key is a Key Item in Remnant: From the Ashes. Key Items are specifically found in specific areas of a Location, given by NPCs, or are dropped by Bosses.
Monkey Key Usage
- Can be used to access a room where Assault Rifle can be found in Sorrow's Field dungeon on Earth.

You will find the key some random place in the dungeon(Sorrow's Field), on the ground. Just search everywhere. The door is at the end

It dropped from me from a mini boss in the area AFTER I got to the door with the monkey picture on it and received the Supply Run quest. I went back to the little checkpoint near the door, reset the place and killed stuff until I got the drop.

Hardest item to find in the game. I got it after 20-25 rerolls on Normal I really wish it could be found in first Earth zone instead of last one. Trip through underground and Chearch both not fun to do 25 times.

I found it in adventure mode on normal after like 25 rerolls. *****en ridiculous.

Just turn 180 degrees from the door and press the open button, you’ll glitch inside and get the gun

26 rerols, 24 normal,2 hard - no monkey key...It's impossible...

After 10+ rerolls on normal I changed to hard difficulty and found the zone instantly. From personal experimentation, requirements: Hard Difficulty, 2nd checkpoint zone (wailing woods/mudtooth's hideout/the settlement). The checkpoint zone doesn't matter but you need the dungeon Sorrow's Field to spawn for you. Monkey Key will be in this zone and when you pick it up and quest activates called Supply Run. At the end of the dungeon there's a door with a monkey drawing on it. Open the door you're given Spirit Trait and in the room is the Assault Rifle.
Can confirm as one of the other comments said. I found the key after I got to the door, got the quest and reset on the checkpoint nearby. Going back through the level the key was on the floor. It wasn't there before I ran through the level to the door. I also hadn't fought any miniboss.
