The Risen (Also known as The Re-Animator) is a Random Event in Remnant: From the Ashes. Random events act like side quests where players need to complete some requests in order to obtain a reward. The events may or may not appear on your play through, requiring a restart for a chance of getting them.

Strategy Writeup

There are three Re-Animator orbs in the battlefield. In order to defeat this boss, you'll need to destroy all three. Try to focus on one at a time. Ads will spawn during all the fight. Try to reach one of The Risen Orbs and dispatch any ads in the area. Then fire at the orb until the new wave of ads arrives. Deal with the ads and continue until the orb is destroyed. Repeat this for all three Orbs.  Destroying one of the orbs will cause more powerful enemies to spawn. It can be easier to kite the weaker enemies and work down the health of each orb in turn before destroying them.

NOTE: If you enter the room and don't look at the walls (you can stare at the floor and navigate using the minimap). The ads won't spawn and you can easily destroy the Orbs.

Should Reanimator really be a boss, shouldn't it be under Event instead, sorry it just seems weird to have it there, if that was the case shouldn't other events similar to it like the Root Tree [Barkskin] and the Warning Totems be there too?

If you fight there long enough, there will be a point where NOTHING SPAWNS anymore! So if u have trouble killing the orbs just focus on killing evrything(maybe sustain mods(Healaura is extremly usfull) etc). Dont hesitate to take consumables u will get enough money out of it.

I run this with `Riven` and a full melee support build to easily get some XP

Got it in adventure mode....what a pain. Equipped the mod which reduces + reflects melee damage on the SMG, ran around with devastator to reduce all 3 orbs to low health, then popped all 3 quickly before elite adds spawned.

There is a cap on spawns from what I can tell, if you kill only the blink adds, they'll eventually be replaced by the slow moving adds (which only speed up when closing to attack), where it just becomes a battle of mild tedium as the orbs are quite tanky.

You can apply the swarm mod to the pillars and just run around while it devours its health with 0 effort. If you take ex-cultist set and galenic charm it kills each pillar with 1 use.

Getting 100-0 while stun locked by enemies who initiate attacks behind walls without any warning is good game design.

Managed to beat it with very basic equipment, +5 shotgun with hotshot and full cultist armour. I ran with the stockpile ring and had to use 2 ammo boxes throughout the event. Pop hotshot and fire 3 shots into a pillar, run back down the stairs and dodging past any stray attacks and head to the next pillar, shoot it 3 times and head to the next one. Rotate between all 3 pillars until they go down. When hotshot runs out, fire 3-4 shots into one of the pillars until it's ready to use again, it will last for 30 seconds with full cultist armour (enough for firing 3 shots into at least 2 pillars). Good luck.

The Rattle weed snd cultist regalia are very useful here. Keep the rattle weed charged by shooting the spheres, and you can mostly keep the mobs off you.

A secondary crowd controller might be the Gravity Rifle.

                    • If you don't do the cheeze method, just make sure circle/alternative between towers giving you time for the ads to follow and you plenty of time to hit the towers and charge up your mods. I used the curse of jungle god handgun to spawn tentacles @ bottom of stairs and devastator for the juicy weak spot burst damage.

The orbs didnt respawn for me. Killed one then the other two. Just keep circling and running from totem to totem if you get overwhelmed.

I came out with a strategy that worked really well, first equip any weapon mods that will reduce melee damage, I used Mantle of Thorns and guardians ring. I also used keepers ring for extra elemental protection but you can get away without this one.

Second, use Beckon as your other weapon mod.

My strategy was to go to one totem, activate bekcon, the minions will focus on shooting the orb while you can keep an eye for ads, you can shoot at the orb as well if there arent any ads around. Once they start coming run to another orb and leave the beckon minions there, they will put extra damage, keep doing this on every orb but DONOT kill any, bring all of them down to 1/10th of their health (give or take) and once you got them all pretty much as low as possible kill all orbs quickly. It works even better if, at the end, you activate beckon on one of the orbs, they will take care of that orb by themselves while you run to another orb, so you only have to worry about that last 2.

Aug 24 - Only getting 3-4 levels per run now, leveling cheese doesn't work anymore or maybe I'm at too high of a level at 350. Probably more efficient to just reroll to acquire simulacrums and level up as a by product.

                            • Alright, took me a while to come up with a decent strategy but basically avoid killing any of the normal monsters and only focus on the teleporters. After a while the maximum monster limit will be reached and you can just run circles around them while shooting the orbs. Run from orb to orb whenever the horde of enemies reaches your destination and that's it.

I can attest the cheese still works. Jusy beatvit abiut 20 minutea ago. Look down before the fog gate. Use the map to navigate. Dont look up until you are smack in front of the pillar. Then attack it. Repeat . DONT LOOK UP until the next pillar.

Equip Full Leto armor, leech ring, twisted amulet for more defense and melee weapon of choice and go to town. After awhile the mob will run out and you can safely destroy the orbs, and gain lots of experience.

Struggled hard with this event until I found the strategy that worked for me. I equipped menders aura and beckon as mods. Used frenzy dust to increase fire and reload rate and used each mod repeatedly while basically ignoring the attackers. The +10health per second of menders aura kept up with the incoming attacks, and the wasteland skulls from using beckon attack the orb if you’re looking at it when you summon them, so it made the fight fairly easy after that. Should mention I also had blood font and menders charm equipped to increase the effectiveness of the health regen items. This fight sucks. Good luck.

Just keep running and changing which reanimator you're damaging. The zombies are slow, and as soon as they catch up to you, just run and shoot the next reanimator. Don't waste bullets on adds (except the blink ones), and just keep running around the dungeon. This takes a bit of time but you don't have to deal with the zombies.

I used the not looking at walls tactic (can confirm it works). This thing took all my +15 shotgun ammo with fire mod and like 80% of +15 repeater pistol ammo to take down. I think that a new mob spawns as soon as you kill one. How are you supposed to fire 8+ mags worth of bullets while there's 6 guys chopping away at you? This fight is absolutely broken and the devs should balance it

This seems like it should be categorized as a random event, not a boss. It's like a much more difficult version of the Wailing Tree and Root Nexus fights. It even uses the same style of health bar as those encounters.

My friends and I managed to cheese this boss fight somehow, dunno if it’s a guarantee to work for you though; there were three of us, the host was to go into the arena not looking at the spawn holes, while the other two sat at the bonfire checkpoint, for some reason the enemies never spawned, and my friend soloed the entire fight without ever spawning an enemy

                                            • Anonymous

kind of awful fight. i used weapon mods Swarm and Desert Skull summon. at the final pillar you cant just hang around, at least my only viable tactic was to throw my mods on the pillar and escape from the confined room for a bit. the pillars just have too many hitpoints to make a standing fight ideal for me

                                              • Anonymous

I really like this game, I think it’s well made and I’m having a lot of fun playing it. But this fight in particular? Absolute trash. Use the “look at the floor so the adds don’t spawn” strat and be done with it. The amulet you get as a reward isn’t even very good imo

                                                • Anonymous

Can confirm that the cheese method (looking only at the ground or the orb) does not spawn any adds on xbone

                                                  • Anonymous

If you don't look at the walls the enemies don't spawn. I'm not joking. Just look at the ground the whole time and you won't encounter anything.

Willing to vouch that this is the hardest part of the game. Despise it. With a passion. Absolute seething passionate hatred.

                                                      • Anonymous

Defensive build with blink token for quick run. I used crossbow with mantle of thorns, galenic charm and keeper's ring, works just fine, mobs dies from their melee attacks

                                                        • Anonymous

Camping this will not go super well for you especially nightmare. This might be the hardest part of this whole game haha

                                                          • Anonymous

The strategy above will most likely get you killed repeatedly untill you get lucky and win on a fluke I have found better success constantly moving and making passes at the pillars. Using flicker cloak to push trough groups when needed. Seeing as I have beaten this fight twice this way on nightmare on my first attempts I'd say my strat is worth a try if camping isnt working for you.
