Beam Rifle is a Long Gun and is one of the Weapons in Remnant: From the Ashes.  Beam rifle deals primarily Radiation Damage.

Despite being cousin to the brutish Buri, the Kari have developed--or perhaps merely discovered--a variety of ranged weapons based on arcane technologies.

Where to find Beam Rifle

  • Can be found in The Lost Gantry random event on Rhom
  • You will have to hold off waves of adds to unlock a door where the weapon is hidden.

How to use Beam Rifle

  • This weapon requires Long Gun Ammo.
  • A Weapon Mod can also be slotted into this weapon.

Beam Rifle Notes

  • Previously benefitted from a glitch which amplified all sources of damage on a target, not just its own damage. This greatly increased the weapon's power, resulting in obliteration of bosses even on Apocalypse difficulty. This has since been patched.

Havent seen anyone mention this yet, but the beam rifle also seems to be silenced. So if you're running solo on higher difficulties, it can be a life saver for gunning down enemies without drawing everyone to your location.

The beam rifles description is actually wrong: Instead of gaining increased dmg the longer you hold the trigger, It actually places stacks of a debuff on the target you are firing, That is the reason, when while you switch targets, the dmg is no longer buffed on you second target. The stack do evaporate really quickly, but with really increased fire rate, you are able to maintain the stacking debuff even when neutral dodging between shots. Other this is that this gun is really broken for coop: The increased dmg does work on other weapons too. For Example, when you are using this beam rifle on an enemy, and your friend is shooting the same enemy with a assalut rifle, he will get the increased dmg as well. This does go for each other weapon, as long as the beam rifle does not break contact with the target. The only instance I have not tested yet is multiple beam rifles, so Iam not really sure how does this work. If you want to make sure that the beam rifle actually places stacks of a debuff, try shootin your friend with It, he then should have a debuff under the health bar wich disappears really quickly if you shop shooting.

This is a great weapon for building up mod charges, especially when combined with a maxed spirit trait and the Ex-Cultist set. The damage can be so-so if you're not able to continuously fire on an enemy, but between the huge ammo supply and the way it rapidly builds up Mod charges, it more than makes up for its DPS issues.

This weapon almost feels like a reference to the Particle Rifle in Mass Effect 3. In Mass Effect 3: From Ashes DLC, an ancient alien gives you the Particle Rifle when you discover them. It has a unique mechanic where the damage ramps up the longer you shoot it. The Beam Rifle is a weapon of dubious origins, possible found or based on someone else's technology, which has a mechanic where the longer you hold the trigger, the more damage it does. Considering the mechanical similarities, description hinting at strange origins and the title of the DLC matching the game (Remnant From Ashes), I speculate this is a reference to the Mass Effect 3 Beam Rifle.
